The QHSE Coordinator path

The path that turns one person into the owner of an integrated system, often alongside another full-time job.

Length
7½ to 9½ days
Optional
1 day, AI and digital tools
For
The person holding the certificates
Fork
After the ISO 9001 internal auditor course
Certificate
One per course

The QHSE Coordinator path runs ISO 9001:2026 awareness, the document control workshop, risk assessment, root cause analysis with corrective action, and the ISO 9001 internal auditor course, then the second standard's awareness day and, on an integrated scope, the ISO 45001 internal auditor course. Seven and a half to nine and a half days.

The QHSE Coordinator path as a line of five steps, ISO 9001:2026 awareness, the document control workshop, risk assessment, root cause analysis with corrective action, and the ISO 9001 internal auditor course, followed by a fork. One branch leads to ISO 14001:2026 awareness; the other to ISO 45001 awareness and, where the scope is integrated, the ISO 45001 internal auditor course. The QHSE Coordinator path sits at step 3 of the delivery cycle. You receive a proposed programme and schedule.

01

Why the optional day is on this path

A coordinator running three standards alone carries more documentation than the role has hours for.

The AI and digital tools course is the one that makes that load survivable without losing the approval trail. A tool drafts, a person verifies, a named person approves.

It sits at the end of the path, once the coordinator knows what a sound document in each standard looks like, because checking a drafted document is the part a tool cannot do.

Registers the coordinator owns afterwards

01

A rebuilt document register

A master list with owner, revision, approval date and next review, built on your own documents in the workshop.

02

A clause 6.1 register

Risks and opportunities split into 6.1.2 and 6.1.3.

03

An NCR register with ageing and trend fields

With a closure and verification checklist: evidence, sample, date, signature.

04

Audit checklists

Process-based, for clauses 4 to 10, written as questions about evidence.

05

A certificate per course

An ITF certificate of completion for each course completed.

04

The only management representative

A manufacturer's only management representative took steps 1 to 5 over a quarter.

The next quarter, as the site integrated its systems, the representative took ISO 45001 awareness and then the ISO 45001 internal auditor course.

The representative ended up holding a rebuilt document register, a clause 6.1 register, audit checklists for both standards, and a certificate per course.

Coordinator path questions

Q01

Does this path include lead auditor training?

No. ITF does not offer lead auditor training and holds no accreditation to run it. The path trains the coordinator to audit your own system.

Q02

Which second standard do we pick at step 6?

The one the site holds or is working toward. ISO 14001 ends the path at step 6. ISO 45001 on an integrated scope continues to its internal auditor course.

Q03

Can the path fit around a full-time job?

Yes. It is usually taken in blocks across two quarters, as in the example above. The order holds; the gaps between courses are yours to set.

Q04

Is awareness enough for a coordinator?

Not for this role. The coordinator audits the system, so the internal auditor course is on the path. The comparison of awareness and internal auditor courses sets out which level each person needs.

Quote the path around the job

Tell us which certificates the coordinator holds together and what else fills their week, and we will quote the path in blocks that fit.
