A learning path is a set of ITF courses in a deliberate order for one job: the 2026 transition, food facility QA, HSE officer, or QHSE coordinator. The order matters because courses bought one at a time arrive backwards, with auditors trained before anyone has read the standard. Each path is quoted as an in-house programme.

Four sequences instead of a shopping list sits at step 3 of the delivery cycle. You receive a proposed programme and schedule.
Why the order matters
Courses bought one at a time arrive backwards, with auditors trained before anyone has read the standard.
A path fixes the order. Each one starts with what the job needs first and ends with the course that tests it. Every path page says where a person can stop, so nobody is sold the whole sequence by default.
Fire and first aid are not a sequence. They are one programme, and they renew yearly. Add the Emergency Response Programme to any path where the person is also a first responder, which on most sites the HSE officer is.
The four paths side by side
| Path | Who it is for | Length |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 Transition | A site certified to ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 14001:2015 | 3½ to 4½ days |
| Food Facility QA | A QA officer in a plant, central kitchen or cold store | 4½ to 5½ days |
| HSE Officer | A site HSE officer in facilities, industrial or contracting work | 7½ to 8 days, over a quarter |
| QHSE Coordinator | The person holding the certificates together | 7½ to 9½ days, plus an optional day |
What a path quote contains
A path quote, laid out course by course
Each course with its length and its place in the order, so the programme can be split across months.
A training matrix row for each person
The person, the courses their role requires, and the date each one completes, ready for your clause 7.2 records.
A certificate per course
An ITF certificate of completion for each course completed, so a person who stops partway still holds evidence for what they finished.
Two paths, one shared session
A food plant quoted the Food Facility QA path for its new QA officer and the HSE Officer path for its safety lead.
Root cause analysis sits on the HSE Officer path and was added to the QA path, so the two people took it together in one session instead of two.
The plant ended up holding one quote covering both paths, a training matrix row for each person, and a certificate per course as each one was completed.
Questions about the paths
Do we have to buy the whole path?
No. Each path page says where a person can stop, and every course completed carries its own certificate.
Can a path be spread over several months?
Yes. The HSE Officer path usually runs over a quarter, and the others can be split the same way. The order is what matters.
Is there an emergency response path?
No. Fire and first aid run as one programme that renews yearly, so it is added to a path rather than built into one.
Can two people on different paths share a course?
Yes. Where two paths share a course, the people on both can take it in one session, and the quote shows it once.
